RAW EARTH / LA TERRE CRUE
ÉCOLE NATIONALE
SUPÉRIEURE DE CRÉATION INDUSTRIELLE
PARIS, FRANCE

The urban construction industry in Paris is often confronted with the problem of rubble and clay, created during the excavation process for new buildings. This waste represents approximately 90% of total urban waste. This body of research, in collaboration with Cycle Terre, was conducted with the propose of reusing this unpolluted excavated earth.

Using this unfired clay within interior settings, this project looked primarily at natural raw earth glazes that could be used for the surface. Exploring how the raw glazes can protect this material from wear and
damage.
